Ten weekly 45 minute classes during Winter, Spring and Fall sessions (Six weekly during Summer Session) include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability. One CD, one digital download and a songbook are included!
Our family classes can involve everyone who loves your children! Many children come with mothers and fathers, sometimes with Grandma, sometimes with aunts or nannies. Our goal is to involve the whole family in making Music Together®! We do this through our mixed age classes (so that siblings can attend together), through our interactive Family Music Zone online, as well as through the songbook and CD families receive at the first class.
In class we model ways to make music with our children in fun and meaningful ways. We dance, we sing, we have quiet moments, we move and we do it all while introducing concepts of rhythm and tonality AND HAVING A GREAT TIME.
The Intergenerational Class takes our regular family music class into a rest-home or assisted living facility, and creates a beautiful class which incorporates everyone from 0 to 100 years old. Older children can find joy and purpose in bringing instruments to our elderly friends, younger children bless all those around with smiles, and parents can soak up the peace from an older generation. These classes are something special.
